Crown of the Sphinx
This heavy circlet of dark gold is set with four lapis cabochons and engraved with hieroglyphs that subtly rearrange themselves when no one is looking directly at them. A pair of small stylized lion's paws cradle the wearer's temples, and the brow is marked with a single half-closed eye that always seems to be considering some unanswerable question.
While wearing the crown, your memory becomes perfect. You can recall any sight, sound, conversation, page, or smell you have personally experienced while wearing the crown, in exact detail. Memories formed before the crown was first worn are recalled with normal fidelity. You also gain advantage on Investigation, History, and Lore checks that rely on knowledge you have previously encountered.
Long rest, std action, concentration (10 minutes); you may invoke Legend Lore. Name a person, place, or object of legendary significance. Spend 10 minutes in concentration, after which you receive a brief, riddle-like vision describing the most important truths about the subject. The information is always accurate but is delivered in the cryptic style of the sphinx, requiring interpretation. The clarity of the vision depends on how widely the subject is known: famous topics yield several specific facts; obscure topics yield only general impressions.
