Ionian Stone: Tetrahedron

The ancient Ionians believed that the Platonic solids were inherently magical, as they are very building blocks (atomos) of the universe. This tetrahedron is made of a single piece of red gemstone, carved and polished to a smooth finish. Its sharp edges and bold hue reflect its fiery nature. When attuned, the stone orbits your head continuously, making sudden, jagged movements as it simmers with energy.

The tetrahedron grants you the following benefits:

• Resistance to fire damage.
• Flaming Ray: at-will, std, ranged; heavy fire damage, plus half ongoing fire damage (Con ends).
• Cone of Flame: recharge 33%, std, ranged, cone 3; medium fire damage, plus half ongoing fire damage (Con ends). The actual shape is a tetrahedron, but the area of effect is a cone. Unlike normal cones, this does not have to emanate from you; you can position it anywhere within range and rotate it however you please.

The Ionian Stone occupies your head slot, and can't combine with other magic hats or headgear. However, it can be combined with other Ionian Stones.

Synergy

If you have the Ionian Stone: Cube, you gain an additional power:

• Burn From Below: recharge 33%, std, ranged, circle 3; the ground becomes scalding hot, nearly molten. All creatures starting their turn standing on the ground take medium fire damage, plus half ongoing fire damage (Con ends). Any prone creature instead suffers heavy damage.

If you have the Ionian Stone: Octahedron, you gain an additional power:

• Steam Blast: recharge 33%, std, cone 5; a blast of superheated steam erupts from the tetrahedron, dealing medium fire damage. The area is obscured by steam for 1 round thereafter.

If you have the Ionian Stone: Dodecahedron, you gain an additional power:

• Fire Storm: encounter, std, emanation 5, concentration; the wind revolves around you, carrying the tetrahedron's flame with it. Each of your turns, as a standard action (except in the first round where it's free), you can inflict medium fire damage (plus half ongoing fire damage, Con ends) to any targets within the area you designate. Those not in the area are unaffected.

If you have the Ionian Stone: Icosahedron, you gain an additional power:

• Soul of Fire: encounter, swift, concentration; your entire body becomes flame. You are immune to fire, and gain a fly speed equal to your walking speed. Every time a creature touches you or hits you with a melee attack, they take medium fire damage.
