Pain and pleasure as instruments. Torment isn't just crowd control once suffering is productive, which is exactly how the Lower Planes treat it: inflict agony, inflict unbearable pleasure that incapacitates and then addicts, transfer pain between bodies, or numb it away entirely — for a price.
Harvest
Suffering you cause with this power converts to soul shards, which makes interrogation a mechanic rather than a scene. When a creature spends a scene in significant torment you inflicted, the GM awards shards commensurate with the intensity, as with sin.
Signature move: inflict pain with Curse of Agony, then offer relief in exchange for soul shards. Similarly, causing addiction to your euphoria can provide a steady supply of soul shards.
Actions
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
| Curse of Agony | debilitating pain immobilizes the subject and leaves them unable to act. |
| Euphoria | unbearable pleasure incapacitates the subject — and withdrawal from it addicts them to you. |
| Transfer Pain | pull a wound or condition off an ally and put it in an enemy. |
| Numb | an ally ignores wounds, exhaustion, and fear for a scene, with a bill due after. |
