Confused
Confused is a status where the subject's mind is in turmoil, causing them to act erratically. It may be a sensory or motor disturbance, or even overt psychic control. In any event, the PC or GM controlling them cannot choose their actions as normal. Instead, they act randomly, according to this chart:
| 2d6 Roll | Effect |
|---|---|
| 2 | Subject lies down, drops whatever they're holding, and attempts to sleep. They are prone and incapacitated until they take damage or another creature uses an action to wake them up. |
| 3-4 | Subject is disoriented and panicked. They must spend their action moving in a random direction, and can only take the Dash action. |
| 5-9 | Subject is confused and disoriented. They can take actions as normal, but there's a 50% chance each action they take has a random target (including themselves) instead of the intended one. |
| 10-11 | Subject is agitated and aggressive. They must spend their action attacking a random target within range, using the most damaging attack they have available. |
| 12 | Subject is convinced they are no longer themselves, and are under the control of an outside force, and that the only solution is to attack themselves. They must spend their action attacking themselves with the most damaging attack they have available. |
Reflex
Natural reflex is not affected (except on a roll of 2), so the subject's AC and saving throws are unaffected. They can use reactions, if the reaction is reflexive in nature, such as Dodge or an opportunity attack. A complex reaction like Counterspell would not be usable, since it requires careful, focused thoughts to use it.
