At-will, std, concentration; you conjure within your reach a mote of the Void, a microscopic black hole that hungers for all things. While you concentrate, you can direct its movement. Immediately, and on each subsequent round when you spend a standard action to do so, you direct the star to attack a single target within range. This is treated as a ranged attack inflicting heavy disintegration damage.

Shield: while wielding the star, you may use the Block reaction against any attack that would hit you, using the star as a shield. Against energy attacks, this works as a normal Block — roll heavy damage and subtract it from the attack. Against physical attacks, this works as a counterattack, inflicting heavy disintegration damage on the weapon (natural or otherwise) that was about to hit you. In the case of inanimate objects like swords and arrows, if the damage destroys the weapon, it doesn't hurt you; otherwise, it takes the damage and hurts you anyway. In the case of creatures' natural weapons, the creature has the option to suffer the full damage and hit you anyway, or roll a Dex save to hold back at the last moment, negating both their attack and the counterattack damage.

Dismissal: unlike the vast majority of duration-based powers, Star of the Void does not end at will. If you lose concentration, it acts on its own, attacking a random nearby target other than you. If you wish the effect to end, you must spend a standard action to attempt to dismiss it. To succeed, you must pass a DC 10 Charisma check. Each time the star inflicts damage, the DC increases by +1, with no limit. Anyone with at least one magical Power can attempt this check, not just you. There is no upper limit on the star's duration; if you were to lose control of it, and it devoured your entire party, it would go on to continue inflicting damage to the world until someone stopped it somehow.

Superpower: the larger star grows enough that it causes damage to areas: either a path 3 per rank or a circle 1/rank per standard action. Damaging multiple targets causes multiple +1s to accumulate.
