You can determine the school of magic and a rough sense of power level (faint, moderate, strong, overwhelming).
- DC +2: you can also read the "signature" of a caster—if you've seen a particular caster's aura before, you can identify their work.
- DC +4: you can trace the flow of magical energy to its source, following enchantment chains, curse links, or ley lines.
