At-will, std, DC 11, must be able to see stars; you learn your current orientation (relative to absolute north, not magnetic north). At DC 13, you can calculate your latitude within 1 degree. At DC 15, you can calculate the current time within 1 hour. At DC 17, you can calculate your longitude within 1 degree. At DC 19, you can calculate your elevation. For each DC above the minimum, you cut the error in half; for instance, at DC 14 you can calculate your latitude within 0.5 degrees, and at DC 19 you can calculate your longitude within 0.25 degrees.
